A 10 acre estate located in the heart of Ponca City. The estate was given to the City of Ponca City by Elsie Cann Brown, daughter of L. A. and Mary Cann in August 1975, in memory of her parents with the stipulation that it would be maintained as a memorial garden for use of the people of Ponca City.
A two story farm house built in 1908 has been refurbished with a beautiful shaded patio area with over 2,500 feet of brick walkways. There is also a formal garden containing several hundred varieties of annuals and perennials planted in unique color displays. There are over 70 species of trees that have been planted since 1980.

Kaw Lake--nature's playground--a place that is always in season. From spring through winter Kaw Lake can satisfy both your visual senses and your need for adventure.
Are spectacular sights something you savor? Whether you are drawn to the breathtaking majesty of the soaring bald eagles that make their winter home on Kaw Lake or the bounteous array of color offered by the assortment of dazzling wildflowers of spring, whether your special pleasure lies in basking on the shoreline amidst an awe-inspiring sunset on a summer's evening or in observing the incomparable, ever-changing colors proudly worn by numerous varieties of trees in fall--Kaw Lake has these vistas and more! You say you want action? Try the breezy waters for sailing or hone your skills in water-skiing and jet-skiing. Motor along the shoreline in a speedboat, discovering the many coves and inlets around the lake. Hike, bike, or horseback ride the various trails that surround the 168 miles of shoreline. Bait a hook and catch a variety of species; Kaw Lake offers some of the best catfishing in the state. Hunt the vast acreage set aside for the various game and wildlife seasons. Venture out into the surrounding area to discover the refreshing fun of a waterpark; shoot a round of golf on one of the area's fine courses; visit the museums and antique shops; attend one of the many area festivals; learn about native American customs. No matter what the season, there's something to see or do at or around Kaw Lake.
There are three swim beaches at Kaw Lake. On the southeast side of the lake, just east of the dam is the Sandy Swim Beach. Cost is $1 per person up to a maximum of $4 per vehicle. The Pioneer Cove Swim Beach, just east of Kaw City, is managed by the community. There is no charge for use of this swim beach. There is also a swim beach at Washunga Bay.

Lake Ponca supports many of the traditional outdoor activities found in other recreational areas, to include: Fishing, boating, water-skiing, camping, outdoor picnic shelters, outdoor swimming pool and an adjacent golf course.
Permits for fishing, boating, and skiing may be purchased from the Park Ranger or at the Park and Recreation office.
Lake Ponca Recreation Area serves as an ideal location for individual, family and group outings, and hosts a variety of community events throughout the year.
Lake Ponca Campgrounds: A camper/RV area is located behind East Lake Ponca, on East Dam Road. The campgrounds are for recreational use. (East Dam Road joins LA Cann, just East of Lake Ponca Park or off of LA Cann.)
Camping Sites may be rented for a minimal fee on a first come, first served basis. (No reservations taken) Electrical and water hookups are available as is a small dump station and restroom/shower facility. The maximum length of stay is two-weeks.

Lake Ponca Park is located a half block East of Pauline's Restaurant, on LA Cann, the main road coming into Lake Ponca. This area features play areas for youngsters, duck ponds and picnic pavilions suitable for large group gatherings. Restrooms are located on-site.
The picnic pavilions are equipped with wood burning fire places, electrical outlets, lights, and stationary tables and benches. Water and a large charcoal grill are close to each shelter.
Picnic Pavilions are reserved by blocks of time, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. The rental fee is $40.00 per block of time per picnic pavilion. Picnic pavilions are available for rent through the Parks Department (580-767-0430). Reservations are required and may be made up to one year in advance.
Fishing in Lake Ponca Park Ponds is restricted to children age 15 and under.

The beautiful Lew Wentz camp and pool nestles between Lake Ponca and lovely Lew Wentz golf course. Recreate yourself with swimming, volleyball, softball or horseshoes. Outlets for motor homes, cabins and a large dining hall are available for group rental. Call for information or reservations.
Pool Opens on Memorial Day - Labor Day. Small admission fee. Camp rental (groups only) May - October. Dining Hall rental available March - October.

Lew Wentz Golf Course

Ponca City's Lew Wentz golf course offers a fully stocked pro-shop as well as 2 PGA professionals on staff to assist you. A championship caliber, 18 hole course with reasonable green fees and tournaments for all. Tee times taken 1 week in advance, groups are welcome.

Sooner state BMX is a part of Ponca City Alternative Sports Association Inc, a 5013. Sooner State BMX provides youth the opportunity to participate in a nationally competitive Olympic sport as well as helps monitor the local skate park facility in Dan Moran Park on South Avenue. Spectators are free and races occur most every Sunday afternoon.
